Review: Too Hot to Handle by Katie Rose

What could possibly be more deliciously hot than a group of hard bodied professional baseball players with a wild streak? Honestly, not a darn thing comes to mind right now.

Katie Rose you're a doll for sharing such a steamy romance with us gals. Too Hot to Handle is a title that definitely fits the heat within it. So what's so delicious about Katie Rose's novel?

Jake! Jake is better than...*shivers*...sex? Ladies this bad boy is sex on a stick. I'd be all over that man in a heart beat. From the moment he enters the story you are filled with want just like the heroine of the story, Nikki. I love the realistic qualities he brings to the table. Everything about him is glorious!! Couple all of his manly features with the rest of the team and OH MY! you just can't put this book down.

Nikki and Jake heat up the pages right away with their desires. I loved the use of a bet between team members to get the ball rolling. It was quite fitting considering the image the team has throughout the book. While Nikki works her bottom off to make the team look good on and off the field she just can't seem to resist the charms Jake tosses her way. Watching the heat between this couple progress throughout the novel is hot and steamy. No doubt causing this gal to blush and get a little heated too. LOL

I have to honest here and admit that I totally missed the first installment of the Boys of Summer series. I'll definitely be fixing that error soon. Bring on the Heat sounds equally delicious! So grab a copy of this deliciously steamy novel now ladies. I promise you'll fall in love with the characters and enjoy Jake's seduction of Nikki Case. You may even wish it was you being charmed...I know I sure did.

Synopsis (per Goodreads)

Nikki Case is no fan of baseball. Her ex gambled away a fortune on the sport, and now her PR firm has tasked her with cleaning up the league’s most notorious bad boys. The New Jersey Sonics are known for wild womanizing and booze-fueled brawls, so Nikki expects the worst. Her first stop in the battle to win hearts and minds is star hitter Jake Baldwin—a legendary ladies man so smokin’ he threatens to melt her tough-girl armor.

Although his teammates prank her without mercy, Jake admires the way Nikki gives as good as she gets. She may be the queen of frost, but there’s kindling beneath those sultry curves—and he’s just the man to ignite it. But when a PR nightmare lands the Sonics in headlines across the country, Nikki is ready to walk. Only then does Jake realize how important she is to the Sonics’ success—and that winning the love of a good woman is no game.

Review: Foster Justice by Colleen Shannon

There are many things that attract this gal to romance novels. When it came to Colleen Shannon's Foster Justice it began with the mere mention of Texas Rangers. Not sure what it is that intrigue me so much about them. There's just something appealing about the rugged alpha male types with cowboy hats and those amazingly tight jeans. So Foster Justice clearly made the cut.

Where to begin? Chad Foster. This is one Texas Ranger that brings sexy back. His smoking good looks just make me shiver with delight in all the right places. He's alpha male through and through ladies.

Shannon's Chad Foster is not fond of strippers which seems like a bonus for him. The only problem is the leading lady is just that...a stripper. Granted she isn't defined by that profession in her eyes. Although Chad has a difficult time seeing passed it. His interaction with the stripper with the butterfly tattoo is intriguing at best. There is tension for sure but I always wanted more to happen between these two. There were heated moment but sadly it just wasn't enough for me.  It seemed as though Shannon saved the heat until the bitter end which was a waste in my opinion. The chemistry between this pair had all the makings of that hot steamy kind of love all of us ladies really want in out romance novels. But in the end I did enjoy the romance they shared and the ending was neatly wrapped up with a red hot bow.

The suspense! Shannon definitely has no problems in the suspense department. As Chad began the hunt for his missing brother the mystery and suspense revved up like you wouldn't believe. There was always something happening...a lead to follow...a chase to save a brother before it was too late. My gosh...I was always on the edge of my seat dying to know what would happen next. If you're wanting to know if Chad found his brother you'll have to read the book to find out. I just can't bring myself to ruin the mystery for anyone. I will say that I was one pissed of reader. I understand the angle that Shannon was going for but for goodness sake. Why...oh why did you have to do that? Was it necessary?

As the debut installment of the Texas Ranger series Foster Justice has a lot going for it. It's a light and exciting read with exciting characters that pull you into their story. I'm curious to see where the second installment leads and what characters will be in the spotlight. I highly recommend Foster Justice to romance readers that enjoy a little suspense with their love stories topped off with a nice hunky Texas Ranger.

Synopsis (per Goodreads)

One Riot, One Ranger…

That's the Texas Ranger motto, but when Chad Foster's rebellious brother goes missing, it's time to put his elite training to use investigating a crime that strikes much closer to home. Turning Los Angeles inside out to retrieve Trey and save their ranch from a ruthless land grab is a no brainer, even if it puts his badge at risk. His only lead is a heart-stoppingly sensuous exotic dancer with a very tempting butterfly tattoo, the woman who helped scam his brother out of their ranch. But staying on top of this redhead's every suggestive word and sensual move means putting his case--and his heart--right in the line of fire.

A Texas Ranger, complete with quarter horse, is as out of place in downtown L.A. as a lawman is in the bed of a suspect, but with both their lives at risk, Chad has to put his trust in the one woman who could bring him down for good, and pray that somehow hard evidence is really just a pack of lies.

Review: Drowning by Jassy de Jong

When I approach a novel promising a love story filled with steamy love scenes the last thing I expect to find is domestic violence. With that said, Jassy de Jong’s Drowning is a touching tale of a woman’s life—from a husband that is less than stellar to a near death experience that puts her in the care of a man who can provide her the world.

From the descriptive opening pages of Drowning I found myself immersed in the horrific experiences of Erin Mitchell. She isn't the strongest female character and for good reason. While she is hopeful in her marriage and a tad naïve at times, you can’t help but pray she finds the strength to overcome her husband’s insanity.

Her world is turned upside down when she meets the handsome Nicholas who makes a sexual offer that leaves her breathless. The chemistry between Erin and Nicholas pulls the story away from the heartbreaking marriage allowing Erin to see her life without rose colored glasses. The romance that blossoms between them warms the heart.

As for the chemistry between the Nicholas and Erin I can only say that it SPICY! The sex scenes are heated and very intense. Even though she technically is cheating on her horrendous excuse for a husband you really can't hate her for it. She battles with her choice and in the end sees the bigger picture.

Drowning has you holding your breathe at times waiting for the negativity her husband brings to the table to end. I know that many romance readers don't necessarily care for cheating in romance novels but this one breaks the mold giving a purely satisfying reason for the cheating. Grab a copy of this one ladies it's steamy and brilliantly written.

Synopsis (per Goodreads)

Sensuous but stifled New York City photographer Erin Mitchell thinks going to South Africa on assignment will be the perfect getaway.

But when a flash flood washes away Erin’s vehicle and she is stranded at a luxury safari lodge, Erin’s romantic working vacation takes an interesting turn. She awakens from her near-drowning and meets her rescuer, Nicholas―hot and brilliant, successful and caring―not at all like her abusive husband. At Leopard Rock in the steamy South African heat, Erin faces the toughest choices of her life.

Nicholas is ripped, he's smart and he's "no strings attached." To give in, or not to give in drowns Erin’s senses as she struggles with two impossible goals: ignore the exquisite physical charms of her host, and conceal every last detail whenever her controlling husband calls. On the other side, Nicholas faces impossible choices of his own, as the bon-vivant playboy may just possibly collide with feelings more powerful than lust.

Erotic. Exotic. Wild. Drowning sizzles in the African heat as one woman is stretched to the breaking point by the strength of her vows and the intensity of her seething primal desires.

De Jong’s ability to bring such a dark and horrendous topic front and center and balance it perfectly with a beautiful love story proves she is an author to watch. Drowning has much to offer readers of romance and erotica—its complex characters, touching scenes, and steamy lovemaking will keep you turning the pages well into the night.

Review: The Sweet Spot by Stephanie Evanovich

When Chase Walker, a professional baseball player, meets the lovely Amanda it’s definitely love at first sight. His interest in Amanda is something he won't let go of—no matter how much she tries to push him away. Not willing to let Amanda slip between his fingers, Chase plays for love like he plays ball…hard.

When their love for each other begins to blossom, the tabloids snap a shot of a special moment they share. The lovebirds find themselves in the worst position and everything falls to pieces. Can Chase and Amanda’s love survive the paparazzi?

Stephanie Evanovich has penned a beautiful love story that is equal parts engaging and sizzling hot. She brings Amanda and Chase to life on every page. There is a realistic quality to the characters that will have you cheering for Chase to capture Amanda’s heart no matter what it takes.

I have to be honest and say that sports are not among my favorite things but Evanovich does a wonderful job integrating the sports theme into her novel. There’s just enough baseball talk to make you fall in love with Chase. He embodies all of those hunky attributes that make your heart race and fill you with a passion so strong you wouldn't resist his charms even if you could. It's a brilliant blending of manly sports and all of the things women love about romance.

The romance sizzles in a way that leaves you breathless and wanting more of this fun-loving couple. As I turned the final page I wanted to flip back to page one and take the journey all over again. Evanovich is a gifted storyteller that will surely appeal to readers who enjoy fulfilling romantic stories such as those written by Maya Banks, Christie Craig, and Jaci Burton. I highly recommend The Sweet Spot to anyone looking for a fun, lighthearted love story with realistic characters. This is a five star novel if ever I have read one!

    The Sweet Spot
    By: Stephanie Evanovich
    Publisher: William Morrow
    Release Date: 7/8/2014

    Synopsis (per Goodreads)

When pro baseball player Chase Walker first meets Amanda at her restaurant, it’s love at first sight. While Amanda can’t help noticing the superstar with the Greek-god-build, he doesn’t have a chance of getting to first—or any other—base with her. A successful entrepreneur who’s built her business from scratch, Amanda doesn’t need a Prince Charming to sweep her off her feet. And a curvy girl who likes to cook and eat isn’t interested in being around the catty, stick-thin herd of females chasing Chase and his teammates.

But Chase isn’t about to strike out. A man who isn’t interested in playing the field, he’s a monogamist who wants an independent woman like Amanda. His hopes rally when she discovers that squeaky-clean Chase has a few sexy and very secret pre-game rituals that turn the smart, headstrong businesswoman on—and into his number one fan.

Then a tabloid discovers the truth and turns their spanking good fun into a late- night punch-line. Is Amanda ready to let loose and swing for the fences? Or will the pressure of Chase’s stardom force them to call it quits?

Fifty Shades of Grey Soundtrack is coming!

I don't know about all of you but I'm curious about the soundtrack for the highly anticipated film adaptation of E.L. James' Fifty Shades of Grey. If it's as intense as the romance and lovemaking in the trilogy then we are in for a real treat!

If you're looking to get a taste of what the soundtrack has to offer then you'll want to have a listen to...
"Earned It" from The Weekend. It's available for purchase on itunes here. It's a steal for only $1.29.

"Earned It" is absolutely amazing. Definitely a romantic song. So when is the soundtrack available? How much longer do we have to wait? It should release prior to the debut of the film on Valentine's Day.

I'll definitely be grabbing a copy! Just think of all the scenes from the book that the songs will bring to memory. Holy smokes that makes this gal blush just thinking about it. Is it hot in here or is it just me?
